Well, just a week after we got the good news that Dawson's thyroid nodule was benign, he was back in the hospital. On Wednesday we noticed Dawson was guarding his neck and wouldn't move his head, like he did in the beginning of this whole ordeal. He also had a fever of 101, so we called the surgeon and she said to take him to the hospital. He was admitted that night and they immediately started him on IV antibiotics. His fever returned whenever the tylenol wore off. The next morning he had an ultrasound of his neck which just showed fluid in his thyroid, but that didn't tell us much. The doctors are just baffled about what is causing this infection. If it happens again they will do more tests and possibly more surgery. He was able to come home on Friday on antibiotics. It amazes me how brave Dawson has been through out this whole crazy thing. It is more than any 2 year old should ever have to go through.
